Dodgers: Max Muncy Believes LA Still Runs the West

The infielder joined MLB Network Radio to talk about how he feels about this year despite the quiet offseason.

Despite the fact that Los Angeles hasn’t made much noise this offseason, Dodgers infielder Max Muncy is still confident in his team. The San Diego Padres have sparked a lot more activity compared to LA, and while that may worry some, Muncy doesn't see them as a threat; he believes the Dodgers are still the best in the NL West.

Muncy joined an episode of “Loud Outs” on MLB Network Radio on Friday to share his stance on this year’s team and the upcoming season:

“You know, I think everyone’s talking about the Padres right now — and probably rightfully so, they’ve made a lot of big moves in the offseason and they did eliminate us in the postseason — but, you know, we are still the defending NL West champs, we’ve taken the division nine out of the last ten years or whatever it is, and we still have one of the best teams in baseball. I know not everyone thinks so just because we didn’t go out and make big offseason moves, but that’s because we already have all the pieces in place, you know? We made a couple additions to complement it, but we’re still gonna be one of the best teams in baseball, and we can’t wait to get out there and prove it. But if people don’t want to talk about us, that’s fine. Let everyone else have the hype they have to live up to.”

The All-Star and the rest of the team will be going into this season with a resilient mindset. Despite getting taken down by the Padres last postseason, the boys in blue are more ready than ever to come back and make a statement.

Muncy is eager to battle and brings a wealth of experience to the team where he can help cultivate a winning environment. Los Angeles has all the right pieces to stand out within the division and they plan to make their presence felt against all the naysayers.
