Dodgers News: 2 LA Standout Rookies Continue to Rise in Season-Long Rankings

LA's young talent keeps showing off.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have arguably been MLB's hottest team with the calendar about to turn to September, and the team has an interesting mix leading them on their great run.

Sure the Dodgers have two MVP candidates in Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman at the top of the order, but the team also has some young talent playing key roles for them.

Dodger centerfielder James Outman and starting pitcher Bobby Miller have both made huge impacts for LA throughout this season, and they both figure to keep playing big roles in the postseason.

And the team's young duo is getting noticed, as they continue their rise up Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter's MLB rookie rankings

After Outman and Miller were both considered honorable mentions in Reuter's previous rankings, they now sit at No. 14 and 17, respectively.

And the two received well deserved praise from the writer.

Reuter gave Outman credit for being able to adjust after a rough patch in May and June, and also called out his improved play in center field.

"... he is back to producing at a solid clip with an .885 OPS in 143 plate appearances since the All-Star break. He has also been roughly a league-average defender in center field, which provides added value."

And he gave Miller a rather significant shoutout when it comes to his near future.

"The hard-throwing right-hander has gotten back on track since the All-Star break with a 3.11 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 37.2 innings over his last seven starts, and he is the leading candidate to fill the No. 4 starter job in October."

At the rate Miller's going, a spot in the playoff rotation is almost assured, especially with fellow starter Tony Gonsolin set to undergo Tommy John surgery.

The Dodgers firmly have their sights set on continuing their dominance into the postseason, and the team's young talent in Outman and Miller are sure to make their mark on the sport's biggest stage.
