Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor left Monday's 8-6 loss in the 8th inning due to injury. Taylor was replaced by James Outman in left field in what at first just appeared to be a normal switch.

Taylor was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, and it was possible Dodgers manager Dave Roberts just wanted to get Outman in there — for what it's worth, he doubled in his first and only at-bat of the game.

However, after the game, Roberts spoke to the media, and said that he removed Taylor from the game due to injury. Here's exactly what he had to say, per Spectrum SportsNet LA.

"Chris hurt his side throwing in the outfield and what's concerning is that he doesn't come out of games," Roberts said.

He didn't say whether it was an oblique issue or not, but he did say that it was the left side. He also provided a timeline on the next steps:

"We're going to run some more tests tonight and tomorrow see how he feels," Roberts said. "It's probably fair to say that he'll be down for a couple days at the minimum."

Roberts saying that Taylor will be out for "a couple days at the minimum" does make it sound like an injured list stint is very possible. And if it is, the Dodgers would be very thin at the shortstop position.

Miguel Rojas would be the only shortstop on the roster, and the Dodgers would have to make a move to bring someone up. They could potentially look at someone like Yonny Hernandez, or they could go with someone like Luke Williams.

Either way, it would drastically hurt the depth at shortstop, and the Dodgers would really need Miguel Rojas' bat to get going a little bit. Right now, Rojas is 4-for-31, good for an OPS of .343.

We'll continue to update you on Taylor's status, but for now, it sounds like the Dodgers are going to need to make a move.
