Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave some updates on the pitching plan for the team's weekend series against the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium. As they deal with injuries to multiple pitchers, Roberts is forced to tinker with the rotations as best he can and even will be forced to use a few bullpen games coming up.

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic had the scoop for the Dodgers plan.

Dodgers will have Bobby Miller pitch on Saturday. The plan for now is a bullpen game on Friday. Miller threw 112 1/3 innings in the minors last year, and Dave Roberts said he doesn’t anticipate Miller will have any sort of innings limit this season.

With Friday being a scheduled bullpen game, the team will need to make sure they can get out to an early lead. We saw last weekend against the Philadelphia Phillies that throwing the bullpen game was costly but at this point, Roberts really doesn't have many options. The hope is that the bullpen can limit the damage and allow the offense to carry the day.

Saturday showcases rookie sensation Bobby Miller as he gets his first look into the historic rivalry between the Dodgers and Giants. It should be a good test for the young right-hander and throws him directly into a bragging rights game. Miller has been spectacular for the Dodgers this season, holding an ERA of just 0.78 across four starts.

There was thought that Miller may have an innings limit as the season goes on due to his lack of longevity historically but Roberts shot that down pretty quickly. It looks like Miller is here to stay and has a long leash to pitch.

Ending the weekend series will be Tony Gonsolin. Gonsolin threw six innings of shutout baseball in Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox so he would be on regular rest. Gonsolin has pitched well in his last few starts, lowing his ERA to 1.93 on the season.

The Dodgers clearly have a plan to deal with all the injuries and for their sake, hopefully it works. The team sits in second place within the NL West and can't afford to keep dropping games. This is especially true for the weekend series against San Francisco as the Giants are right behind the Dodgers in the NL West standings.
