The Dodgers have seen their fair share of injuries to their pitching staff this season but it seems that maybe, just maybe things are looking up a bit. The team just got Julio Urias back, Clayton Kershaw should be back soon and on Thursday, LA got some great news regarding one of their injured young arms.

Ryan Pepiot seems to be inching closer to a return to the mound after missing the entire season so far due to oblique injury issues. The hard-throwing right hander will be throwing a rehab assignment for the Oklahoma City Dodgers and will start the teams game tomorrow.

This is incredible news for the Dodgers as they are about to come out of the All-Star break and could use some help in their rotation. Pepiot was expected to play a big role for the club this season prior to his injury but now they could be getting him back just in time for the stretch run.

Last season for LA, Pepiot held an ERA of 3.47 in the limited time that he was with the team. He showed some flashes of why he was one of the organizations top prospects but did have some command issues that plagued him. Towards the end of last season, he was showing some real promise and the team had hope to see what he could provide over a full season.

The Dodgers have lacked stability in their rotation all year long and if they can get Pepiot back, he could help provide them with that. It's unknown at this time when he could join the team but the fact that he is throwing a rehab assignment this soon is great news.

Hopefully the outing goes well and he then can rejoin the team sooner rather than later. LA could use his arm to help them contend as the season winds down here.
