Dodgers News: LA Well Represented in New MLB Top Prospects List

In this story:
With all the success that the Los Angeles Dodgers have seen on the field over the last 10 years or so, you would think that LA would have a depleted or weak farm system. However, the opposite is true and the Dodgers have maintained one of the best farms in the sport. They have done an excellent job balancing big league success while still understanding that holding a strong farm system can help the winning be sustainable.
In the newly updated MLB Top-100 Prospect List, the team had nine players representing them. This gives LA one of the best collections of prospects across baseball and allows them to continue building a consistent winner on the biggest stage.
The highest-ranked player for the Dodgers on the list is starting pitcher Bobby Miller at number nine and he has made his value known early on in his career with the team. Despite his struggles in his last two starts, you can see the potential of Miller and what he could ultimately become at the big league level.
"Among the highest climbers into the Top 15,
Bobby Miller
joins the party after a strong start to his Major League career with his upper-90s fastball, slider, curve and changeup all looking quality weapons."

Other names on the list include starter Emmet Sheehan, who has looked dominant in his first two career starts, catcher Diego Cartaya, infielder Michael Busch, catacher Dalton Rushing, pitcher Gavin Stone, outfielder Andy Pages, starter Ryan Pepiot and right-hand pitcher Nick Frasso.
The largest fall from the last list for LA is Pepiot, going from number 51 all the way down to number 84 on the list. He hasn't pitched this season after suffering an injury during Spring Training. But he showed some small flashes of excellence last year when he made his debut.
The Dodgers as a whole have some good options going forward. They can pick and choose who they want to remain as part of the team and who they are willing to discuss in future trade deals.
But they have options and that is the most important part in the strength of their farm system.
