Dodgers News: Lance Lynn Shouts Out LA Fans After Another Dominant Performance

In another display of Andrew Friedman's greatest hits at the trade deadline, the newest Dodgers starter Lance Lynn was lights out against another opponent since his move from Chicago to LA.

The veteran right-hander tossed seven shutout innings against the NL Central-leading Brewers earlier this week and spoke about the help all over the ballpark he got to perform so well.

“Better results. Better luck. Great defense behind me. It’s just been a little bit of everything, It’s been fun out here, especially pitching in front of the home crowd. Three of my four have been here, so it’s fun to pitch at this ballpark. I’ve always enjoyed it. Definitely a lot better as a home player.”

Knowing that his underlying numbers were much better than the results indicated, the Dodgers traded for Lynn despite his ERA being over 6 at the time of the deal.

Such a gamble has paid off tremendously for the Boys in Blue as all four of Lynn's starts have resulted in wins for the team thanks in part to his ability to eat innings and limit the damage.

Going pitch for pitch with former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes, both starters in Thursday's game held the other lineup scoreless through seven dominant frames.

While Burnes did most of his damage with strikeouts, Lynn got groundball outs for a majority of his innings.

When the Milwaukee lineup did strike the ball hard, good defensive positioning from Mookie Betts, Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman in particular often prevented runs from crossing the plate.

Getting out of a particularly difficult jam of two men on with nobody out, Lynn engineered a comebacker to force an out at home, a liner to Freeman and a popout to short in the sixth inning.

The story of the night should go to his catcher Austin Barnes who not only called a shutout for Lynn, Caleb Ferguson and Evan Phillips, but also homered for the first time this year and the only run of the game.

Lynn's presence has been a big part of the Dodgers' dominant August, and Dodger fans everywhere appreciate his contributions thus far.
