Dodgers News: Michael Busch Talks About What's Been Working for Him at AAA

In this story:
As the season has gone on, the Dodgers have been forced to rely on different rookie performers to have them get through everything. It’s not a strategy that many teams want to use, but it’s been the reality for this squad.
With this, the team has been able to see these players up closely to evaluate them at a higher level. One of these rookies has been Michael Busch, and he will be getting another opportunity to prove himself as he was recalled to LA amid an injury to slugger JD Martinez.
Busch was with the team earlier in the season and had some mixed results. The former first-round pick for the Dodgers came up with some clutch hits but overall he struggled at the plate.
For the year, he is hitting just .188 with zero home runs and four runs batted in. However, after being sent down by LA in June, Busch has been one of the better hitters in the minor leagues.
“Busch has the highest OPS (1.047) and slugging percentage (.615) in the league, is second in extra-base hits (51), third in RBIs (83) and total bases (217) and tied for third in home runs (24).”
Per The OC Register
It helped earn him another call-up to the big leagues and has shown why this team believes in him. Busch just wants to stay consistent at all levels and do whatever he can to help his team win games.
“Still have some games when I don’t feel the greatest or don’t hit the ball the hardest, but I feel like I was still able to get on base once or twice,” Busch said. “That’s what I’ve been trying to battle with the last couple years, more consistency. I felt like through experience and at-bats I was just pretty consistent.”

This call-up will serve as another opportunity to show the Dodgers what he can do. If he is more successful this time around, maybe he can stay with the club. Or even potentially have a role next season.
Players only get so many chances to prove themselves at the big-league level, so it’s up to Busch to take advantage.
