Trade rumors are swirling in Major League Baseball, as the good teams separate themselves from the bad ones, and the bad ones go further and further down the standings.

One of the hottest rumors for the last year has been a Dodgers potential deal with the Chicago White Sox for All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson, however, MLB insider Ken Rosenthal thinks there could be more to a potential deal between the two teams.

Rosenthal recently discussed the possibility of Anderson joining the Dodgers on The Athletic's Starkville podcast, saying he "looks like a Dodger to me." And on Wednesday, in an article on the site, Rosenthal mentioned the possibility, somewhat backtracking but also somewhat doubling down.

While Rosenthal said the recent rash of injuries to the Dodgers pitching staff could alter their priorities, he did come up with a solution that could net them Anderson and additional help.

Rosenthal raised the idea of a trade package involving Anderson and another player from the White Sox, potentially starting pitcher Dylan Cease or reliever Liam Hendriks. The Dodgers could be interested in a blockbuster move that would address multiple needs, truly turning their roster into a World Series favorite heading into the second half of the year.

Anderson is off to a bit of a slow start this season and spent some time on the injured list. Following Wednesday's game, Anderson is hitting just .244/.283/.282 with zero home runs and seven runs batted in. His defense has also been subpar, but to be fair, he's playing on a bad White Sox team.

Maybe a trade to a contender will somewhat reenergize him to play better, but that, of course, is a risk the Dodgers would have to be willing to take. Either way, though, his trade value is much lower than it was this spring, which could work in the Dodgers favor.

The trade deadline is still a few months away, and much can change in that time. The Dodgers' needs may evolve, especially considering the recent setbacks in their starting rotation. Nevertheless, the possibility of a trade for Anderson remains intriguing, and it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds in the coming weeks and months.
