Edwin Rios Reflects on His Time With The Dodgers on Social Media

Edwin Rios recently took to social media to express his appreciation to his former team and their fans as he signs with a new team, the Chicago Cubs. The 28-year-old infielder/outfielder had been with the Dodgers organization since he was drafted in 2015 and made his Major League debut in 2019. In November, LA non-tendered him, and Rios became a free agent.
This week, Rios signed a one-year contract with the Cubs, officially bringing an end to his time with the Dodgers.
As he departs from Los Angeles, Rios posted a message on his Twitter account, thanking the Dodgers and their fans for their support throughout his time with the organization.
Thank you LA for taking me in with open arms. From my big league debut to a World Series Champ. Thankful for the opportunity. Thankful for my teammates. Thankful to start this next chapter. pic.twitter.com/xGSh9AzUGt

Rios was a fan favorite during his time with the Dodgers. Although he faced two injuries between 2021 and 2022, he was known for his powerful bat. Last season, the Puerto Rican appeared in 27 games and hit .244 with seven homers and 17 RBIs.
Because Rios did not have much of a set position in Los Angeles, he will hopefully be able to get more consistent at-bats on his new team.
While Rios will be missed, he surely leaves on good terms with the players and the organization. His time with the Dodgers had a significant impact on his career and he takes on his new chapter with the same level of gratitude.
