Freddie Freeman is already putting himself among the Dodger greats. On Monday, Freeman hit his 17th double of the month, breaking the franchise record for most doubles in any month in Dodgers history.

The MLB record for most doubles in May is 20, and Freeman has two more days to potentially break it.

Earlier on Monday, prior to Freeman hitting his record-breaking 17th double, his manager, Dave Roberts, talked about his incredible superstar. He was asked about his incredible consistency at the plate, and what makes him one of baseball's premier players.

"You know what's interesting with Freddie is that he's just as consistent of a player on both sides of the ball, every facet that I've ever seen," Roberts said. "And to be quite honest, I can't tell he's on a hot streak. I just feel like when he's kind of struggling or not getting hits, it's the same to me. I still think the at-bat quality, the quality of contact is pretty similar."

Freeman is in the midst of quite the hot streak, riding an 18-game hitting streak into Tuesday's game. Since May 10, when the streak began, Freeman is hitting .431/.506/.792 with four home runs, 12 doubles and 20 RBIs.

So how is Freeman so consistent? Roberts talked about that, too.

"He's very stubborn in the process," Roberts said. "I think that we can all sit here, and players can say that. But when you get in that moment, there's anxiety, there's panic. There's a results sort of effect on your mind where he just never deviates. It's remarkable."

Freeman is consistently one of baseball's best players in every facet of the game. On the year, Freeman is slashing .333/.409/.571 with a National League-best .980 OPS. He also leads the National League with 73 hits while leading all of baseball with 23 doubles.

Freeman is quietly putting together an MVP-caliber season for the Dodgers, and is leading them to yet another dominant first two months of the season.

The Dodgers are really just so lucky to have Freddie Freeman.
