As the baseball season continues on, the Los Angeles Dodgers are forced to deal with all the injuries that come their way. They have already seen plenty this season and it seems like they can never escape injury news.

It has been something that has seen multiple key players miss time and the team fell down the standings because of it. Now post All-Star break, LA is hoping for a clean bill of health going forward but that doesn’t mean it will happen that way.

One of the more recent Dodger players to return from injury has been utility-man Chris Taylor. Taylor dealt with a bad knee injury that kept him out about a month. But he is back and has looked good in his return to the Dodgers.

But despite this, manager Dave Roberts isn’t banking on Taylor staying healthy the rest of the way

“With where he’s at, we’re kind of hanging in there with it,” Roberts said. “It’s not something that we can really bank on. I don’t think anyone can bank on his health the rest of the season. So just being mindful of that — I know our guys are.”

Per The Athletic

LA needs Taylor to stay healthy as the year goes on. He is a valuable piece to their puzzle this season due to his ability to play both infield and outfield positions. This gives Roberts the flexibility that he loves when creating a lineup for a game.

Taylor has also been one of the better hitters in the postseason for the Dodgers since his arrival so the team would love to have him available come playoff time. They are hopeful that the injury issues are a thing of the past for Taylor and that they can manage things from here on out.

Taylor himself has said that his knee feels fine when playing and that at this point, it's just a matter of working through everything.

“It feels good in the games,” Taylor said. “When I get adrenaline and I prep it the right way, I don’t feel like it hinders me at all.”

Per The Athletic

With Taylor being one of the few reliable right-handed batters on the Dodgers roster, the need for him comes even more into focus. As the season winds down, Taylor will be one of the more trusted members of this team and the Dodgers feel comfortable giving him that playing time.
