In this story:

The Los Angeles Dodgers have dealt with issues in their pitching staff all season long. It caused them problems early on in the season and brought up real concern for a potential postseason appearance.

Things have gotten much better of late, with their starters seemingly starting to pitch up to their capabilities. It has been a nice change of pace and has allowed LA to really start to show how dominant they can be.

One of those pitchers has been left-hander Julio Urias. Urias struggled out of the gate this season but has looked more like himself during his last few outings.

Just through the month of August, Urias looks like he has turned a corner from his early season issues and is back to being a relied-upon member of the starting rotation.

His performance during this month has helped the Dodgers greatly, as the team has won 17 of 19 games. They are clicking on all cylinders right now, and Urias has been at the forefront of that during his starts.

He easily could deserve the August Pitcher of the Month award if he is able to put together another solid outing during the team's upcoming road trip.

For the season, Urias owns a 4.15 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. He has also struck out 104 batters over 106.1 innings of work this year.

The team needs him to stay on this course through the rest of the season, and into the playoffs. If they want any chance of winning another World Series, they need their guy to help lead the charge.

He has been almost like the ace of the team for the last few years, so getting him back on track has been massive for this squad. Hopefully, he can keep things up and continue to help the Dodgers win games down the stretch of the season.
