Dodgers Rumors: MLB Analyst Picks Clayton Kershaw As Midseason Cy Young Award Winner

In this story:
The Los Angeles Dodgers have had their struggles this season, especially on the pitching side of things, but one constant for LA on the mound has once again been Clayton Kershaw.
A 16-year veteran and future Hall of Famer, Kershaw has again established himself as the unquestioned Dodger ace in 2023, boasting a 2.55 ERA that leads the NL heading into the second half of the season.
He's been a workhorse for the Dodgers, only missing one start because of shoulder soreness, and he'll have an opportunity at his first 200 inning campaign since 2015.
All of that's led to FanDuel Sportsbook's Ben Verlander naming Kershaw as his midseason NL Cy Young Award winner.

It's a well earned unofficial accolade for the lefty, as he's been a steady hand in a Dodger rotation that's been hit by both injuries and poor performance at times.
The 35-year-old has been consistent throughout the season though, and he recently had a standout 1-hit outing in Denver against the Rockies.
Even though he left that start early because of shoulder soreness and was eventually placed on the injured list, he figures to be back soon once the second half of the year begins.
That's welcome news for the Dodgers as Kershaw's returned to his normal Cooperstown form in 2023, and he was a big help for his team in their climb back up to the top of the NL West.
Both him and the Dodgers will hope that he can continue to be a weapon on the mound, and he's showing no signs to the contrary.
As for this year to date, he has a .215 opponent batting average, good for one of his best efforts in that area over the past few seasons.
And if Kershaw can continue his excellent form, the Dodgers figure to be a tough out this season and into October.
LA's won five of their last six games, and they'll try to continue their winning ways this weekend against the New York Mets.
