Indians Split Doubleheader with Tigers on Saturday, Three Takeaways from Game 2

On Saturday night the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers played their second game of a doubleheader. This afternoon the Indians were making up a game that was postponed due to rain on May 4, the Indians ended up losing that game 7-4.
For the nightcap of Saturday night, the game resulted in a different outcome.
The Indians were heading into Saturday night with a record of 42-37 and were two games ahead of the Minnesota Twins for first place. The Tigers stood at 36-43 and were 6 games behind the Indians.
Following the victory, the Indians improved to 43-37 on the year and the Tigers fell to 36-44.
Here's our three takeaways from the Indians 4-1 victory.
1.) Indians Prevent Doubleheader Sweep
Things seemed to repeat themselves and falling in favor of the Tigers early. Jordan Zimmermann held the Indians hitless through 3 innings and didn't allow his first hit until the 4th inning.
The Tigers got on the scoreboard first in the second inning when Mikie Mahtook hit an RBI single to drive in Nick Castellanos. The Indians eventually did get on the board when the 6th inning came around.
In the 6th inning, the Indians scored 4 runs. Michael Brantley got things started when he grounded out to second but drove in Roberto Perez. Edwin Encarnacion followed with a bloop single over Cabrera's head and into shallow left field which drove in Jason Kipnis.
Jose Ramirez kept the scoring trend going when he hit a 2-run home run to right field and extended the Indians lead to 4-1.
Following the Indians four-run sixth inning, both teams did not score for the rest of the ballgame.
2.) Carlos Carrasco Earns His 9th Win
Tonight Carlos Carrasco continues his trend of not losing in back to back starts this season.
Happy to answer that:

Last 29 starts, since '13, when CLE gives 🍪 4+ runs of support:
28-1 https://t.co/eVHjLRj6me
When Cookie gets at least 4 runs of run support, the team is almost guaranteed to emerge victoriously. Tonight was no different.
After the Indians had to go to the bullpen after Tomlin only went 4.2 innings and had to use three relievers to get out of Game 1, Carrasco threw 7 innings and the team only used Cody Allen and Andrew Miller to finish out the game.
Carrasco pitched 7 innings, gave up 4 hits, allowed 1 earned run, walked 1 batter, and struck out 7.
Tonight Andrew Miller slammed the door shut and earned his second save of the season.
3.) Bradley Zimmer Shows Off Defensive Ability During Doubleheader
During the first game of the doubleheader on SportsTime Ohio Rick Manning and Matt Underwood mentioned the fact that since Bradley Zimmer has made his MLB debut nobody has seen him show off his reach through a dive yet.
Following the doubleheader, every Cleveland Indians fan has seen the Indians rookie center fielder reach out and dive and prevent scoring opportunities twice in one day.
Zimmer reached out in the first game and made a great defensive stop but outdid himself in the second game in the ninth inning when he prevented Mahtook from getting a base hit.
The leap. The extension. The catch.

Braddy Long Legs can do it all. #RallyTogether https://t.co/59kabp8pSk
Bradley Zimmer is ridiculous. Now has two fantastic diving catches today, both times robbing Mahtook of extra bases.

Bradley Zimmer gets the save, Andrew Miller was also there.

Bradley Zimmer has been putting on a show in center field. But the real test will come on a pop-up in Game 6 of the World Series.
