The Indians offense didn't do much on Monday night in Detroit against the Tigers, but just in case there was any doubt, the teams' bullpen put a lackluster 6-3 loss to rest with yet another awful one inning of work.

The loss puts the Indians back at .500 at 20-20 at the season, while the Tigers, who should not be much of a threat in this division unless the Indians make them, improve to 18-22.

Here's three takeaways from the loss, a game that on paper the team should have won, but again followed the inconsistent script thus far of 2018.

1. Indians Offense Held In Check

After putting up 5.6 runs per game the last couple of weeks, Monday was not a good night at the plate for the Tribe, as they were held down to three runs by the Tigers pitching staff.

Mike Fiers, who the Tribe has seen before, put on a solid performance against the Indians, holding Cleveland to a pair of runs on three hits in six innings with a walk and five strikeouts.

He threw 92 pitches, 57 strikes, and while he wasn't dominant, he did more than enough on a night when the Tribe as a whole had seven hits and eight strikeouts.

2. Goodrum Does in the Tribe

The Tigers offense got a huge boost from Niko Goodrum, who hit a pair of homers, a two-run shot to give Detroit the lead for good, and then he put the game away with a three-run shot in the 8th.

Goodrum is hot at the plate right now, hitting .462 at the plate over the last week (6-for-13) with a double, homer and RBI.

That hot streak for the young Tigers RF continued Monday with a homer off Carlos Carrasco in the 4th, and then the three-run shot off Zach McAllister in the 8th to account for five of the six Detroit runs.

3. Oh that Bullpen

With the game very much still in question in the 8th inning, Terry Francona decided to go to first Evan Marshall on the mound, and then when he gave up a walk and a hit, he gave the ball to Zach McAllister.

Bad move.

Marshall set the table and poured the gas for the Tigers with a poor outing, and McAllister lit the match and threw it on the pile as he allowed a three-run blast to Niko Goodrum to go from a 3-2 game to a 6-2 game just like that.

Consider that McAllister has given up 5 homers in 15.2 innings this season, and Marshall hasn't impressed in his short time with the big league roster.

It's going to be a revolving door all season long with this pen, and Monday night was a prime example why your going to see plenty of arms in this pen in 2018.
