CLEVELAND - In a move that was anticipated a few days back, the Indians have activated outfielder Michael Brantley from the disabled list in time for Friday's home opener against the Kansas City Royals.

The team optioned outfielder Tyler Naquin to AAA Columbus.

Brantley has appeared in just 101 games combined in 2016 and 2017, and the team picked up his team option for the 2018 season right after the end of the 2017 campaign.

Last season he hit .299 with 9 homers and 52 RBI in 90 games for the Indians before going down with an injury in August that led to the team picking up Jay Bruce from the New York Mets.

Naquin this season appeared in five games hitting .167 with a homer a two runs batted in.
