Indians Agree To Minor-League Deal With Reliever Matt Belisle

The Cleveland Indians helped solidify their pitching staff on Sunday with the signing of pitcher Matt Belisle. The deal was confirmed by multiple sources, including Jon Heyman.

Belisle will have a chance to make the big league roster and if he does, it'll make him $1.5 million richer. Also included in the reliever's contract is $1.75 million in bonuses. The thirty-seven-year-old appeared in 62 games last season and went 2-2 with a 4.03 ERA while also making nine saves for the Minnesota Twins. Belisle was a very strong arm for the Twins down the stretch of their remarkable turnaround from the worst team in baseball to a playoff berth. When asked on his choice of selecting Cleveland as his latest team destination, Belisle told WTAM 1100's Nick Camino this:
