The Indians 6-game trip out West kicked off on Monday night with a meeting with the Los Angeles Angels, a team that still has dreams about a wild card birth in the American League.

The Tribe did them no favors on Monday, beating them soundly 6-3 for their 25th win in 26 games.

The offense pounded out 14 hits in the win and had some key hits late to put the game away, and Mike Clevinger kept the Tribe rolling right along.

Here's three takeaways from the win.

1. Clevinger Sets the Pace

Tribe pitcher Mike Clevinger is going to make it a tough decision to keep him out of the playoff rotation at this point.

An afterthought for a spot in the rotation at the start of 2017, he's now 11-5 after going 6 innings, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts.

He kept the Tribe in the game until their offense got going with three single runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th when the Indians took the lead for good.

Clevinger has won his last five starts, and was very good once again on Monday night for the Indians.

2. Some Unsung Heroes

A couple big names that haven't been mentioned a lot during the streak had big nights on Monday, among them were Roberto Perez and Austin Jackson.

Perez hit a key solo homer in the 5th to extend the Indians lead at the time to 2-0, his 7th of the season, and he's now hitting .224.

Jackson has been sensational for the Tribe for most of the season, and Monday he put up 4 hits in 5 at bats and his now hitting .316.

While the streak has been about guys names Jose and Francisco in the media, it's been a team effort all the way through.

1. Still Streaking

While the historical win streak was snapped on Friday, still what this team is doing right now is incredible.

They have a shot on Tuesday to break another record, as they have won 12 straight on the road, and can break their all-time mark for consecutive road wins with a victory over the Angels.

25 of 26 has put the team in the lead for the best mark in the American League over Houston, and with the Dodgers loss they are two back of the best mark in all of baseball.

Not bad for a team that started the second half with a West coast trip 1-6 against two rather bad teams in baseball - Oakland and San Francisco.
