Indians Drop First Game of the Spring, Pounded by Diamondbacks 12-3

The Indians fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 12-3, in Goodyear Ballpark on Sunday. Arizona jumped out to an early 5-0 lead against starter and loser Chih-Wei Hu and Neil Ramirez and never looked back.
Hu allowed three runs in two innings for the Indians, and Ramirez gave up a two-run homer in the third to Christian Walker.
The Indians plated their first run in the 3rd inning on consecutive doubles by Trayce Thompson and Daniel Johnson, and got a 2-run homer from Oscar Mercado (2-for-3) in the 9th inning.
Jason Kipnis had a pair of hits in each of his plate appearances. Lefty Tyler Olson struck out the side in a perfect 5th inning frame and R.C. Orlan and Shao-Ching Chiang also added scoreless innings.
The Tribe will be in action on Monday as they take on the Texas Rangers at 3:05 PM ET/1:05 PM MT with Trevor Bauer getting his first spring start against lefty Mike Minor for the Rangers.
And the undefeated Spring Training season is no more.
