Indians Fall To The Rockies 11-3; Three Takeaways From The Loss

The Cleveland Indians sent Mike Clevinger to the mound on Tuesday night, looking to have set the Tribe up for a good start to their series against the Colorado Rockies. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Let's look at the three key points from tonight's 11-3 loss at Coors Field.
1. Clevinger Chugs Along, Takes Lumps In Rough Outing-
Mike Clevinger went four innings and struck out six, but definitely faced his fair share of adversity tonight. Clevinger gave up five runs, including a two-run bomb to Carlos Gonzalez. Clevinger had been a pleasant surprise for the Tribe this season, so tonight should be viewed as just a blip on the campaign.
2. Colorado Has A Very Good Offense, Sneaky Good-
For those wondering, the Colorado Rockies are legit. With A team that boasts All-Star Third Baseman Nolan Arenado and Shortstop Trevor Story, everybody forgets that they also boast Carlos Gonzalez and Charlie Blackmon. With a very good showing tonight, it seems to be the norm for the Rockies at the plate nowadays. Will they be able to keep the lead in the NL West? With that offense and one more addition to the pitching staff, you betcha.
3. Zimmer Keeps Raking-
For those who grew impatient with top prospect Bradley Zimmer lurking in the minors for what seemed like forever, it appears the wait was well worth it. Zimmer is batting .275 in the first few weeks of MLB play and is handling business in center field. It looks like Zimmer will be the starting center field moving forward, which is A-okay with me. In fact, if he keeps bringing two RBI's every night, he might start the Rookie Of The Year talk.
