The new look San Diego Padres put up eight runs on the Tribe Monday afternoon, shutting out the Indians 8-0 in Peoria to improve to 6-2 on the year, dropping the Indians to 4-6.

Starter Shane Bieber went three innings, allowing a run on three hits, not walking a batter and striking out four.

Dan Otero and Adam Cimber each allowed a run in an inning of work, and Jefry Rodriguez was roughed up as he couldn't find the plate, walking in a run, and was hit for four earned runs in a five-run 6th inning for the Padres.

The Tribe offense was hamstrung by five Padres pitchers, with starer Joey Lucchesi allowing just one hit in three innings of work, not walking a batter and striking out three.

The Indians put up just six hits and two walk, striking out nine times in the losing effort.

New Indian Hanley Ramirez got his first start of the year, going 0-for-3 hitting fourth at the DH spot.

Greg Allen was about the only bright spot on offense, going 2-for-2 to raise his average to .467, and he also committed an error in center field.

The Indians are back at it on Tuesday as they will take on the Chicago White Sox in Goodyear Park with a first pitch set for 3:05pm.
