AKRON, Ohio- On Wednesday Jason Kipnis made another start for the Akron RubberDucks and faced former Indians organization member Justus Sheffield, who the Indians traded away to get Andrew Miller. Sheffield is now playing for the Trenton Thunder.

In the first inning of play, Kipnis was hit by a pitch on his left hand by Sheffield but remained in the game until the 3rd inning.

The Indians reported that Head athletic trainer James Quinlan said that he decided to have Kipnis pulled from the game due to precautionary reasons.
