With spring training continuing for the Indians, today the team announced a couple roster moves that will have to do with the team's Major League roster.

The club optioned infielder Yu Chang, righty pitcher Jefry Rodriguez and righty Ben Taylor to AAA Columbus.

There was chatter that Chang could fill in at short in the time missed by Francisco Lindor, and he did hit the ball fairly well, hitting .300 in 11 games (6-for-20, 1 HR 1 double), but the team felt that he needed more time in the minors.

Rodriguez started a game and overall appeared in four games, going 0-1 with a 7.11 ERA, allowing five earned runs in 6.1 innings.

Taylor likely will see time in the pen this year for the Indians, this spring though he struggled, allowing eight runs in just two innings, sporting an ERA of 31.50.

The team also announced they have reassigned righty pitcher James Hoyt, outfielder Mike Papi, righty Brooks Pounders, and righty pitcher Asher Wojciechowski to Minor League camp.

With today’s reduction of seven players, the Major League Spring Training camp roster now consists of 51 players.
