The Cleveland Indians topped the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 on Saturday, and continued beating on Chris Archer in the process.

The Indians are the only team that the Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher has not beat in his career. Before Archer took his exit, the offense put up seven hits on three runs.

The Indians also got a strong outing from Mike Clevinger, who earned his sixth win of the season.

With today's win, the Tribe improves to 62-52 and are looking to win the weekend series tomorrow afternoon. Here are the three takeaways.

1. Clevinger's Outing

Dominance!

Indians pitcher Mike Clevinger pitched seven strong innings, giving up four hits, one walk and striking out nine on his way to a shutout.

First pitch strikes were very important for the righthander. Out of the 24 batters he faced, 18 were first-pitch strikes. Clevinger also did a nice job mixing his pitches and making it look easy tonight.

2. BRUCE ALMIGHTY
Jay Bruce looks like he's in the right spot.

Tonight, the right-fielder had two hits with two RBI. Those RBI came in the first inning thanks to the miscommunication by the Rays third baseman Trevor Plouffe and left fielder Corey Dickerson. The ball dropped between those two players, and Bruce ended up with a double.

His other RBI came in the sixth inning which made it a 3-0 game, when he hit one to right field to score Jose Ramirez.

Since joining the Indians, Bruce is hitting four-four-nine (.444).

3. Back-to-back shutouts
The Indians won yesterday's game 5-0. Tonight the Tribe shut out the Rays again, but this time the final result was a 3-0 score.

Tonight marks the second time this year the Indians have shut out back-to-back nights. Also, this is their 11th time shutting out a team, leading the American League.
