Indians Slugger Edwin Encarnacion Leaves the Indians Clubhouse on Crutches

CLEVELAND - The mood at Progressive Field took a serious turn on Friday after DH Edwin Encarnacion left the game with a sprained right ankle trying to get back to second base following a first inning Jay Bruce line out.

The slugger had to be helped back to the dugout and then the clubhouse, where it was eventually announced he had suffered a sprain of the right ankle.

While the Yankees were building a lead over the Indians 8-3 in the 6th inning, Buster Olney of ESPN tweeted that Encarnacion left the Tribe clubhouse on crutches and a walking boot.

The question would be what the suticase and backpack are for, possibly for him to get an MRI done on the ankle to see just how bad the sprain is and possibly if there's any other damage?

Only time will tell, for now it for sure looks as if Encarnacion won't be available for the Indians game three in New York on Sunday, or likely the fourth game of the series on Monday.
