Lineups for Thursday's Intersquad Scrimmage for the Indians at Progressive Field

The Indians are eight days away from their regular season opener as they will play host to the Kansas City Royals on July 24th at Progressive Field. Thursday the team will get to see projected number three starter Carlos Carrasco start for the home Tribe along with reliever Logan Allen as the visiting starter as the team will play yet another intersquad game.

The Cleveland Indians continue to steamroll towards the start of the regular season in eight days, and Thursday they will continue to ramp things up with another intersquad scrimmage at Progressive Field.

The team will play another scrimmage on Friday and then some players will make the trip to Pittsburgh for the first of three games against the Pittsburgh Pirates starting on Saturday.

The Tribe will come back and play the Pirates Monday at Progressive Field before wrapping up the three-game set on Wednesday at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

From the sounds of it, the Indians will play scrimmages all the way up to a week from Friday when they take the field for real against the AL Central rival Kansas City Royals.

“We need to play, our guys need to get at-bats,” Indians manager Terry Francona said Thursday. “We pretty much have to go (play) every day.”

Thursday night at Progressive Field the visiting team will be highlighted by Logan Allen getting the start on the mound.
