Now Former Indians 1B Carlos Santana Says 'Good-Bye' to Tribe Fans in a Letter

It's always emotional for a player to say good-bye after eight seasons, more so for a team that really has won the hearts of the city for the last season or two with two memorable playoff runs.

Carlos Santana did say his 'so long' to Indians fans on Wednesday, the same day that it was announced officially that he was inking a three-year mega deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Santana, who came to the Indians from the Dodgers for Casey Blake back in 2008, wrote a letter on MLB.com saying his farewell to Tribe fans.

I may be starting new roots in Philly but I will always leave a piece of my heart in Cleveland. I tried to give it my all during these years and I hope you will remember me for being a good Clevelander and teammate. I wish the organization the absolute best. To the Dolans, Chris Antonetti, Mike Chernoff, Tito Francona and his staff, Tony Amato and his staff, trainers, video people, and the entire Cleveland Indians Family, thank you for taking care of me and my family for all of these years. You meant more to me than you will ever know.
