CLEVELAND - Monday night was another successful outing for 'Bauer Outage' as Trevor Bauer continued to show why he's one of the best up and coming hurlers in baseball, throwing seven shutout innings in a Tribe 6-2 win.

Bauer lobbied to go back out in the 8th after the rain, but the coaching staff felt otherwise, and while the pen gave up two runs, the team still got the win.

On offense, Roberto Perez had two hits including a two-run double despite being sick all day, and Jason Kipnis got his average over .200 with three hits and a homer.

Tonight the team will turn to long haired righty Mike Clevinger, who is 5-2 on the season and is also throwing well, coming in with a 3.15 ERA.

Here's a look at tonight's tilt at Progressive Field.

Time: 7:10 p.m.

Starting Pitchers: LHP Carlos Rodon (0-1, 3.60) vs. RHP Mike Clevinger (5-2, 3.15)

1. Crafty Clevinger

Mike Clevinger's solid 2018 season continued in his last outing against the White Sox, as he went seven innings, allowing a run on five hits with a season-high 11 strikeouts.

The team gave him plenty of run support in the 5-2 win, and it seems like Clev has the Sox number, winning against them twice already this season.

Despite as good as Clevinger has been thus far in 2018, the Indians are just 3-4 in his home starts this season, with hopes of evening that mark tonight

2. Let's Do It Again

Just like it was Monday night, Tuesday is a repeat pitching matchup as Sox lefty Carlos Rodon takes the hill for Chicago, making his third start of 2018.

In the outing last week against Clevinger, Rondon went five innings and allowed just two earned runs on two hits while walking three and striking out four Tribe batters.

Much like Dylan Covey on Monday, the Indians batters are hoping that the second time around will be much better against Rondon, as they pounded Covey in knocking him out after five innings on Monday.

3. Can Kip Keep Going?

Jason Kipnis by all accounts has had a rough 2018, but had three hits in game one of the three-game set on Monday, and it meant so much to the team that even Trevor Bauer unprovoked stated in his post game how great it was to see Kip get going.

The Tribe second basemen homered in the win, and if he can start to hit on a consistent basis, the offense can really develop into something special.

Let's see if a good final five games at home can get Kipnis' season turned around.
