Following the news earlier that the Indians are not going to give a qualifying offer to outfielder Michael Brantley, now there’s a report the team might look to deal some veteran players.

The Indians are in a tough fiscal spot - so names that likely are to be bantered about for possible deals could include the likes of Yonder Alonso, Edwin Encarnacion, Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, Yan Gomes and Roberto Perez, and Jason Kipnis.

While the team will have a hard time finding deals for a player like Kipnis, who is due over $14 million next season, it will be interesting to see what the market could look like for players like Carrasco, Kluber and even Gomes, who was an All-Star last year.

Fans might look at this already as the Tribe simply “throwing in the towel,” for 2019, but obviously the team is not only looking to shave their budget, but also looking to stay competitive in a league where teams like the Yankees and Red Sox have payrolls well over $200 million.
