COOPERSTOWN, N.Y.-- Sunday was a good day to be an Indians fan with Cleveland beating Detroit 8-1 and Tribe great Jim Thome being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

As Thome was giving his speech, the Hall of Fame tweeted out a picture of his plaque that will hang in Cooperstown.

"Lefty slugger powered his way through 22-year Major League career, amassing 612 home runs with a textbook uppercut swing," it reads in part. "Led Cleveland to 1995 and 1997 A.L. Pennants as key member of Indians renaissance."

Thome was a member of the Tribe from 1991-2002, and made his return in 2011. Through 13 years in Cleveland, Thome hit 337 home runs, had 937 RBI and a .287 average.
