"Tribe Can't Wait To Be Home," Three Takeaways from the Walk-Off Loss

Let's just say the Indians cannot wait to get back home to Progressive Field Friday. The Tribe went 4-5 on the road and had a chance to be .500 on Wednesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays, but that wasn't the case.
The Blue Jays and the Indians both didn't have their best pitching, but both teams sure brought the bats. Both starters struggled and each team turned to their bullpen early in the game.
The loss dropped Cleveland's record to 18-15 and it's followed by a much-needed day off for the Tribe.
Here are three takeaways from the loss.
1. Salazar struggles, giving runs back
Indians starter Danny Salazar took the mound in the series finale. The team gave him two runs in the top of the first, but he gave them right back to Toronto.
He pitched 2.2 innings, giving up five hits, five runs and striking out four.
Salazar wasn't the only pitcher to struggle. The bullpen joined him.
In the ninth inning, Cody Allen gave up a walk-off single from Ryan Goins.
Before that, reliever Dan Otero gave up a two'run homer from Ezequiel Carrera, which tied the game. Bryan Shaw did his job to keep the game tied going into the ninth, working two strong innings.
2. At-Least the Bats Were Alive
Well, at least the bats came out and most people are asking themselves where was this in the month of April and first week of May.
The Tribe got things started when Jason Kipnis hit a two-run double to right sending Carlos Santana and Francisco Lindor home. He would also tie the game at three for another base hit to right for an RBI.
It became a 7-3 ball game in the fourth inning when Brandon Guyer clears the bases, delivering a three-run double to deep right. It seemed everything was going right for the Tribe at that point, but an off night for the pitching did them in.
3. Returning Home
Indians will return home for a six-game home stand facing starting Friday with a three-game weekend series vs. the Minnesota Twins, followed by three games with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Josh Tomlin will start for the Tribe Friday, trying to get back to .500. Tomlin had a solid outing in Kansas City on Saturday, but it left him with a no decision. First pitch for Friday's game is set for 7:10 pm.
