Twins Trump Tribe Again 4-1 to Take Second Straight of Three Game Set: Three Takeaways from the Loss

This week nor this series has not been so kind to the Indians. Saturday the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians played their second of three-game series in where the Twins defeated the Indians 4-1 to take the second of the three-game set, their second straight win over the Tribe.
The Indians had one bad inning which was the fourth, an inning that saw Minnesota send three runners home off of starting pitcher Mike Clevinger and the Indians defense.
With the loss, the Indians dropped to 18-17 as the Twins improve to 19-14, still in first place in the American League Central.
Here are the tree takeaways from this afternoon's loss.
1. Mike Clevinger outing
Though Mike Clevinger's stuff wasn't all that great like his last outing against Kansas City, he managed to pitch 4.1 innings, with three hits, walking five, giving up three runs and striking out five.
For him, it was all about keeping the ball down and work on his command. After Carlos Santana, scored on a wild pitch, the Twins took a 3-1 lead in the fourth and what hurt about it was walking two batters and an error he committed throwing to first.
The error opened the door for the Twins, and it cost the Tribe as Minnesota scored three runs, more then enough for the anemic again Indians offense.
2. Where's the Offense?
Here's an interesting stat for you - in this series against Minnesota Twins, Michael Brantley is hitting 4-7. The rest of the team is only hitting 2-52.
The Indians haven't done much in the month of May. However, this weekend so far the team only were held to three or fewer hits. Yesterday against Ervin Santana, the Indians recorded just three hits as well.
Saturday it was Jose Berrios looking like Cy Young, throwing 7.2 innings, allowing just two hits as he was able to keep the Indians in check, allowing just one run to score on a wild pitch which at the time gave the Indians a short-lived 1-0 lead.
3. Nice crowd once again
Only positive thing about this weekend if you're an Indians fan is, more people coming to the ballpark especially the last two games.
Today, the attendance was 28,379 and that's pretty good for an afternoon baseball game and you can also add the squirrel to the mix. Yesterday's game attendance was 24,452.
