Baltimore Orioles Furiously Trying to Extend Duo of Young Superstars

In this story:
The Baltimore Orioles have said all winter long they plan to play in the deep end of the free agent pool, especially when it comes to pitchers.
So far, their individual hot stove has been ice cold.
However, they could be trying to make progress on a few internal items in the background.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Orioles have been trying to extend Gunnar Henderson and Jackson Holliday.
"Agent Scott Boras, when asked if the Baltimore Orioles have reached out to discuss contract extensions for Gunnar Henderson and Jackson Holliday: “Only once or twice a day.’"
Henderson and Holliday are two of the most important pieces in the key core of the Orioles. Extending both of them, especially in a fashion such as Michael Harris Jr. and the Atlanta Braves, could go a long way in solidifying their future success in the American League East.
Regardless, the Orioles need to add pitching this winter after losing Kyle Gibson and Jack Flaherty to free agency. Innings must be made up and quality ones at that if they hope to continue their recent run of dominance in the AL East.
The New York Yankees have already traded for Juan Soto and they could be in on Yoshinobu Yammato. They will likely be the largest threat to Baltimore repeating as AL East champions.
If the Orioles hope to continue their momentum from last season, then general manager Mike Elias will have to bold when it comes to winter acquisitions.
they have both the payroll and prospect capital to get a deal, or multiple deals done on both the trade and free agent market.
