Lone Star Legend Nolan Ryan, Wife Congratulate Texas Rangers on World Series Win

Nolan Ryan, who spent five seasons with the Texas Rangers and later served as team president, offered his praise to the World Series champions.

While he played for both Lone Star State franchises, Hall-of-Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan had a memorable stay with the Texas Rangers.

He, along with his wife, Ruth, are offered up their congratulations to the 2023 World Series champions.

In a video posted by the Round Rock Express social media account, the Ryans offered a sincere "way to go" following Texas' 4-1 series win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Nolan Ryan, along with his son Reid, are part of the Express ownership group.

“Congratulations to the Texas Rangers on a big win,” Nolan Ryan said. “World champions.”

Ryan, considered by some to be the greatest pitcher of all time, joined the Rangers in 1989 after spending eight years with the Houston Astros. He appeared in 129 games, posting a 51-39 record with a 3.43 ERA. The Rangers never made the postseason with him despite finishing second in the division in four of his five seasons with the club.

For the first time since 2011, the Rangers punched their ticket to the Fall Classic, winning series over the Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles, and Houston in the process. Texas won all 11 games on the road, becoming the first team to accomplish a feat in MLB history.

“From the Nolan Ryan Foundation and the Round Rock Express, way to go Rangers,” Ruth Ryan added. “We’re really proud.”

The Rangers enter the offseason with the second-best odds (+800) to win the World Series and repeat as champions.
