Watch: Texas Rangers Celebrate ALCS Victory Over Houston Astros

In this story:
The Texas Rangers clinched their third World Series berth on Monday night, defeating the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series to cap off the first postseason matchup between the two Texas-based teams.
Game 7 ended with the Rangers winning 11-4 and Adolis García earning ALCS MVP honors. While Max Scherzer started the game for the Rangers, it was Jordan Montgomery — who started Games 1 and 5 of the series — who came on in relief to take his third postseason win.
García had an incredible Game 7, as he went 4-for-5 with three runs, five RBI and two home runs. He also had a grand slam in the ninth inning of Game 6, which seemed to set the stage for the Rangers to blow out the Astros in Game 7.
After the team did postgame interviews and accepted the American League championship trophy, the team retired to the locker room to fully celebrate their achievement.

The road team won every game of this season, which is the second time in postseason history that has ever happened. Oddly, the Astros were involved in that too. In the 2019 World Series the road team won each game and the Washington Nationals won the series in Houston in seven games. Scherzer also started Game 7 of that series.

The Rangers made the World Series in 2010 and 2011. Texas lost in 2010 to the San Francisco Giants, a team led by current Rangers manager Bruce Bochy. In 2011, the Rangers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.
Game 1 of the World Series will be on Friday night at Globe Life Field against either the Philadelphia Phillies or Arizona Diamondbacks.
