Best Texas Rangers Deadline Trade of Century

In this story:
The Texas Rangers figure to be buyers at the trade deadline for the first time in a long time this season. Contending does that for a franchise.
Rangers general manager Chris Young can go in a lot of different directions for the American League West leaders. With the loss of Jacob deGrom, will the priority be starting pitching? The bullpen has been an issue for most of the season, including in Sunday’s road trip-ending loss to the New York Yankees. How about another bat?
Perhaps it will be a combination as the Rangers march towards their first postseason appearance since 2016.
Whatever happens, deals at the trade deadline can not only pay off in the short term, but can change the direction of a franchise. The folks at MLB.com have compiled the best deadline deals this century for every team.
The trade chosen by MLB.com for the Rangers featured the club selling, as a fan favorite was moved to a contender, but the haul coming back helped set up the most glorious run in franchise history.
Rangers: Elvis Andrus, Neftalí Feliz, Matt Harrison (2007)
Probably the best trade of the Jon Daniels era, Texas received three future All-Stars and two key pieces of the 2010-11 teams that reached the World Series when the club sent Mark Teixeira to Atlanta. Andrus was a cornerstone of the franchise, spending 12 years as the Rangers' shortstop. Feliz and Harrison earned All-Star selections on the '11 team that ultimately fell to the Cardinals in the World Series.
As for the best deals for the rest of the AL West – Seattle Mariners: Luis Castillo (2022); Oakland Athletics: Jermaine Dye (2001); Houston Astros: Justin Verlander (2017) and Los Angeles Angels: Teixeira (2008).
The trade deadline this season is Aug. 1.
