Normal Rest for Texas Rangers Rotation Into White Sox Series

In this story:
The Texas Rangers have set their probable starting pitchers for the series with the Chicago White Sox, which starts on Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The American League West-leading Rangers (44-27) are opting to keep their rotation on normal rest for the first leg of a two-city trip, which ends at the New York Yankees next weekend.
Texas is coming off a series win over the Toronto Blue Jays that ended with a 11-7 come-from-behind win Sunday.
Left-hander Andrew Heaney (4-4, 4.05) will pitch on normal rest after his last start against the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday. The White Sox have not announced their probable starter the series opener set for a 7:10 p.m. CT.
After that, right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (9-3, 2.59) will take the mound on Tuesday against Dylan Cease (3-3, 4.31). Eovaldi took the loss in his last start Thursday against the Angels going opposite Shohei Ohtani.
Left-hander Martín Pérez (6-3, 4.54) will start the finale Wednesday, with right-hander Michael Kopech (3-5, 3.92) on the hill for Chicago. Pérez started the Rangers’ 3-2 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday and took the loss.
By keeping the rotation on time, the Rangers are set to take advantage of their only off-day between now and the All-Star Break. Having Thursday off will give the rotation an extra day of rest once Dane Dunning takes the mound against the Yankees on Friday.
The Rangers reset their rotation on Tuesday when Jon Gray’s start was pushed back to Sunday due to a blister issue. Left-hander Cody Bradford was recalled to take Gray’s start on Tuesday.
Bradford is still with the team, which leaves open the possibility that he could make a spot start. After being off Thursday, the Rangers play 17 straight days to the All-Star Break.
