The Houston Astros sign stealing scandal and fallout has dominated MLB’s headlines since The Athletic’s bombshell report. While the MLB investigation eventually led to the firings of both general manager Jeff Luhnow and manager A.J. Hinch, no players on the 2017 title team were disciplined by commissioner Rob Manfred. Ever since the punishments were doled out, the reaction from players, teams and the media has been largely negative towards the Astros and how Manfred handled the situation. His latest comments calling the World Series trophy “a piece of metal” sparked ever more outrage from stars like Mike Trout, Aaron Judge and even LeBron James.
