Shohei Ohtani made his first start on the mound since Sept. 2, 2018, and after the nearly two year absence, the pitcher's nerves were apparent. Ohtani faced six batters in the first inning and did not record a single out, allowing three singles and three walks. Ohtani won the AL Rookie of the Year award in 2018 for his success as a pitcher and hitter, but last season, the two-way sensation was limited to just hitting as he recovered from Tommy John surgery. He slashed .286/.343/.505 with 18 homers in 425 plate appearances.
