The Baseball Writers Association of America has voted overwhelmingly to remove the name of former commissioner Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis from the MVP awards

The Baseball Writers Association of America has voted overwhelmingly to remove the name of former commissioner Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis from the MVP awards. Landis was the first commissioner of Major League Baseball, and was the final opposition to integration in MLB. It was only after his death in 1945 that the Major Leagues began to move towards integration.
