As the New York Yankees continue to piece together their roster with the hopes they can compete for a World Series championship in 2024, there will be some different faces throughout the lineup and rotation.

It was clear the front office needed to do something to get better talent on the team after they finished last season fourth in the AL East and missed the playoffs.

Trading for Juan Soto, Trent Grisham and Alex Verdugo, plus signing Marcus Stroman, certainly should give them a much more competitive group if everyone stays healthy.

One player who for sure won't be back is their former star pitcher Domingo German.

The talented right-hander was placed on the restricted list and made inactive for the remainder of the 2023 season after voluntarily submitting to inpatient treatment for alcohol abuse in August following an incident in the Yankees' clubhouse.

It wasn't the first time German made headlines for the wrong reasons. He was suspended 81 total games for violating the league's personal conduct policy on suspicion of domestic violence.

He spent six seasons with New York, recording an ERA of 4.41 across 112 appearances and 89 starts.

The righty has shown an ability to be a solid rotation piece, which is why he is generating some interest on the open market.

According to Mark W. Sanchez of The New York Post, German is communicating with multiple clubs and has even received some offers.

"The former Yankee is in talks with six teams, a source familiar with German's situation said, including AL East foes the Blue Jays and Orioles. The Mets, too, have talked with German's camp, though the source said the Yankees' crosstown rivals are 'the least favorites,'" he reports.

Sanchez's source also told him that German "has completed the required steps of an inpatient treatment program" and is looking for his next opportunity to pitch in Major League Baseball.

The ship clearly sailed on his tenure with the Yankees.

There was just too much baggage and history for them to bring back the right-hander.

So, it seems like there's a chance New York will be facing their former pitcher in-division, or will see him dawning a New York Mets jersey in 2024.
