Yankees' Aaron Judge Consulting With Fellow MVP for Advice

In this story:
As if he couldn't get any better.
Yankees superstar MVP winner Aaron Judge is consulting with fellow MVP Paul Goldschmidt for hitting advice.
Judge is coming off a historic season, in which he captured the American League MVP trophy, set the AL home run record with 62 long balls, and nearly won the Triple Crown by slashing .311/.425/.686. He also had 131 RBIs and 133 runs scored.
That said, Judge wants to improve his approach when hitting with two strikes, which is why he sought out Goldschmidt for help.
When batting with two strikes last season, Judge slashed .194/.301/.399. He did, however, hit 21 of his 62 homers with two strikes.
According to The Athletic:
Judge’s typical process features a high leg kick before the pitcher throws the ball. But to improve with two strikes, he plans on eliminating his stride to the pitcher. It’s similar to Goldschmidt’s no-stride approach, where he loads up on his front foot and gets up on his toes before completing his swing.
As the report revealed, Judge has been testing this out for quite some time. Should this strategy work, the outfielder is hoping to improve his contact rate and cut down on his strikeouts.
Judge and Goldschmidt have met at least three times over the past year: first during the lockout, then the All-Star game in Los Angeles and lastly when the Yankees played a three-game set in St. Louis last August.
Although Goldschmidt didn't win his first MVP Award until last season when he was 34, he is a seven-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger Award winner. He has also finished in the top 6 of MVP voting six times.
With two strikes last season, Goldschmidt slashed .241/.351/.435 line with 14 homers.
Judge may have put together one of the best offensive seasons of all-time, but that doesn't mean he isn't looking for ways to get better in his career moving forward.
