In this story:

The future looks bright for the New York Yankees' farm system.

On Baseball America's latest Top 100 prospects list, the Yankees had six prospects featured.

Jasson Dominguez: No. 16, Spencer Jones: No. 46, Everson Pereira: No. 67, Roderick AriasNo. 68, Austin Wells: No. 71, Chase Hampton: No. 72

Dominguez, Pereira and Wells all made their major league debuts with the Yankees last season.

Dominguez hit four home runs before his year ended prematurely due to an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery.

Pereira struggled in 27 games, slashing just .151/.233/.427 with zero home runs and 10 RBI.

As for Wells, he also went through his own struggles at the plate, but crushed three homers in his final five games.

Jones is the Yankees' No. 1 ranked prospect in their farm system and finished the 2023 season in Double-A. Overall, he hit .267/.336/.444 with a .780 OPS, 16 home runs and 66 RBIs between two levels. The Yankees' current outfield is clogged with Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Trent Grisham and Alex Verdugo, which should give Jones plenty of time to continue to develop in the minor leagues.

Arias is still several years away from the major leagues, as he played in rookie ball last season. But the shortstop was impressive at that level, slashing .267/.423/.505 with a .928 OPS while slugging six homers and driving in 26 runs.

Last but certainly not least, Hampton is the Yankees' No. 4 ranked prospect and top ranked pitching prospect in their system. He finished last season in Double-A, so he should receive a promotion to Triple-A at some point in 2024. Hampton's presence is even more significant now that the Yankees traded top pitching prospect Drew Thorpe to the San Diego Padres in the Soto deal.
