First inning
Domingo Germán needs just 11 pitches to get through the first unscathed. He strikes out one and looks sharp once again to start this game.

Took only three hitters for the Yankees to get on the board in the bottom half of the inning. After back-to-back singles from DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner brings home the game's first run on a sacrifice fly.
Third inning
The Yankees go back-to-back as Giancarlo Stanton blasts a three-run homer before Gleyber Torres goes yard as well.
Check out this home run from Stanton... Statcast had it fly off his bat at 115.1 mph.
Giancarlo Stanton just absolutely annihilated this 2-2 pitch, blasting one out of the stadium for a three-run homer.

Aroldis Chapman comes in from the bullpen signaling the end of Domingo Germán's outing. Germán was sharp once again, throwing three scoreless frames with three strikeouts.
Fourth inning
Aroldis Chapman goes 1-2-3 in his one inning of work.
Now, Darren O'Day is on to pitch the fifth, making his Yankees debut.
Fifth inning
Just like Chapman, O'Day was perfect in his one inning on the bump. His first strikeout in pinstripes was a beauty.

Next up to make their Yankee debut is left-hander Justin Wilson.
Sixth inning
That's certainly not how Justin Wilson envisioned his first outing in pinstripes... Wilson gave up a solo home run and a grand slam, lasting only a third of an inning. Manager Aaron Boone had to go out and pull Wilson after the grand slam (hit by Brian Goodwin), putting Trevor Lane in.
By the end of the inning, the Pirates had tied the game at 5-5.
Eighth inning
New York loads the bases with two outs and Ezequiel Duran works a walk to push across the go-ahead run. Yankees take a 6-5 lead.
Ninth inning
FINAL: Yankees 6, Pirates 5
Michael King shuts the door with two scoreless innings and New York holds on to defeat Pittsburgh.
New York is back in action again on Thursday in Clearwater against the Phillies with ace Gerrit Cole on the mound.
Thank you for following along and we'll see you again right back here on Wednesday!
