Yankees' Tommy Kahnle Shut Down With Injury

In this story:
The Yankees' bullpen has suffered an injury.
Relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle is shut down from throwing for 10 days due to right biceps tendinitis.
Kahnle, who returned to the Yankees after two seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has not appeared in a Grapefruit League game yet this spring.
Kahnle's shut down began on Friday, which means he should begin ramping up some time next weekend.
The good news is that Yankees manager Aaron Boone was optimistic that Kahnle could be ready by Opening Day if all goes well.
“We’ll be careful and not rush it, but it should keep him in line to do that,” Boone said.
Before returning this winter, Kahnle pitched for the Yankees from 2017-2020. After making just one appearance in the Covid-shortened 2020 season, Kahnle needed Tommy John surgery. This elbow surgery, plus right forearm inflammation, has limited Kahnle to a mere 14 games across the past three seasons.
Despite spending most of the 2022 season on the IL, Kahnle came back towards the end of the campaign to toss 8.2 innings of one-run ball for the Dodgers. In his last full season with the Yankees, which came in 2019, the righty posted a 3.67 ERA in 72 games.
