Video: Anderson Varejao's life, illustrated

As a promotion for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the Games' official YouTube channel has begun to roll out drawn showcases for notable Brazilian athletes. The first in line were martial artist Flávio Canto and Cavaliers big man Anderson Varejao, who is both one of the best Brazilian basketball players and a longtime representative for Brazil's national team.

Here, we see an outline of Varejao's basketball life, filled with charm and narrated by the man himself. One particularly endearing bit (at the 1:56 mark):

"In 2004, I was part of the NBA athlete selection process, the Draft. I'll never forget the day I was selected. There was a camera filming who was chosen and when it came to the Lakers, the camera zoomed in my direction. It was one of the world's biggest teams and my manager began to celebrate. I jumped up, kissed and hugged everyone, and then I saw that, in fact, it was the guy sitting behind me who had been chosen. What a cold shower!"

The player who upstaged Varejao? Sasha Vujacic, who was selected by the Lakers at No. 27, only three spots ahead of Varejao.
