PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Over the weekend, the Philadelphia 76ers hosted their first-ever art exhibit, displaying what they detail as a crossover of basketball meeting art. With over 350 submitted pieces from artists spanning from eleven different countries displayed in a large room, the Sixers allowed fans from all over check out out the hard work for a five-day event.

On Tuesday night, the Sixers closed off the showcase from the public for the final time this year, allowing players and employees to wrap up the long and eventful weekend with a mixer. Players such as Ben Simmons, Furkan Korkmaz, Kyle O'Quinn, and many more arrived at the Fitler Club in Downtown Philadelphia with an opportunity to see themselves within the work that was on display.

Despite being the focal point and the inspiration of the work, most of the players were just seeing everything on display for the first time. As you can expect, the players were quite excited to see the results of all of the hard work.

Eventually, though, another surprise came into play on Tuesday night. In addition to displaying the work from artists than span all around the globe, the Sixers also decided to take the opportunity to reveal the 2019-2020 'City Edition' uniforms.

Sixers' President Chris Heck could hardly wait to get the word out on Tuesday. As the team intended to reveal the threads during Josh Richardson's DJ set, Heck jumped the gun and tweeted out a sneak preview of this year's edition early on.

"It represents the great city of Philadelphia," Heck stated on Tuesday when asked about this year's design for the 'City Edition' series. "It's the tradition of the 76ers, and it has some storytelling that goes along with it. We're excited to once again show up with the best uniforms in the NBA."

The sole purpose of the jersey was to represent the Liberty Bell as it's a "Philadelphia icon that transcends time and brings to life a powerful symbol that unites us all," according to Heck. The special 'City Edition' uniform marks the fifth uniform the Sixers will wear this year. These specific uniforms are set to debut on-court Saturday, November 30th, against the Indiana Pacers.
