The Philadelphia 76ers could finally find out who their round two opponent is on Thursday night. Earlier this week, the Sixers were tuned into the first-round series between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks, which featured a Game 5 matchup in Boston.
A win for the Celtics would’ve locked in the Sixers’ second-round opponent. However, a Hawks victory prevented that from happening. Despite missing Dejounte Murray, who sat out due to suspension, Hawks star Trae Young came in clutch down the stretch.
With a dagger three-point shot in the final seconds of the game, the Hawks defeated the Celtics and forced a Game 6 matchup, which will take place on Thursday night.
Not only will the Hawks get Murray back on the floor, but they’ll have the home-court advantage as well. With the Celtics holding a 3-2 lead, one win punches their ticket to the second round. A loss for Boston would force a Game 7, which would take place on Saturday.
