Brooklyn Nets: Mikal Bridges’ Playing Status vs. 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are set to take on the Brooklyn Nets for the regular season finale on Sunday afternoon.
As expected, the Sixers aren’t going to roll out their key players in Brooklyn. When the team released its injury report on Saturday night, it was crowded with prominent names.
Players such as Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tobias Harris, PJ Tucker, Tyrese Maxey, and De’Anthony Melton are all ruled out for the matchup. Sixers’ reserve Georges Niang is listed as questionable due to left knee soreness.
As for the Nets, they are in a similar boat. Seth Curry, Dorian Finney-Smith, Cameron Johnson, Royce O’Neal, and Ben Simmons are all out for Sunday’s game. Nic Claxton, Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, and Edmond Sumner are all questionable.
While the Nets are looking to sit most of their key players, the star Mikal Bridges is not listed on the report at all, which is a sign he’ll get the nod to suit up and play on Sunday.
Since entering the NBA, Bridges has been extremely healthy. After debuting with the Phoenix Suns in 2018-2019, Bridges hasn’t missed a game. After getting traded to the Brooklyn Nets, Bridges was inactive for one matchup on February 9 as he transitioned to a new team.
Since debuting with the Nets on February 11, Bridges has played in 26 straight games. It seems Bridges would like to keep the streak going on Sunday, as he’s on pace to suit up on Sunday. However, don’t expect the Nets’ star to spend a ton of time on the court.
The Sixers and the Nets are scheduled to tip off at 1 PM ET.
